My Mama's Cornbread Recipe
This is my Mama’s cornbread recipe. It’s a big batch - if you’re cooking for two, you might consider cutting this recipe in half.
Sift together:
2 1/4 cup flour
2 1/4 cup cornmeal
1 cup sugar
3 tbsp baking powder
2 1/2 tsp salt
Mix in:
3 cups milk
3 eggs (beaten)
6 tbsp melted shortening

I’m going to be really busy in the coming weeks (months?) with the work that is to be done for the opening of the new Portland Midwifery and Doula Care Center. It’s such an immense joy to get up each day and work towards opening the doors for business. We will be having our painting done and the floors put in next as we shop for the decor.
